Biography of Sinpa Ricky Griffith

I was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico on August 6, 1995. Over my elementary and middle school years, I played football and forgot about karate and just focused on that sport, which I later came to realize I miss martial arts even more. I started martial arts in 2006, learning tae kwon do which in about 2 1/2 to 3 years I earned my first degree in Tae Kwon do.

In 2008 I was introduced to Shotokan karate by my Instructors Gerard Weis, Christopher Weis, and Joseph Weis. Only taking a couple months of training I suddenly moved to Saudi Arabia. I took a year break from Shotokan and went to Saudi Arabia to go to school.

In the late 2011’s I came back to Alamogordo to finish up my high school and in early January of 2012 my dad said I should get back into doing Shotokan karate and that the school I went to is still there. I waited a couple days to see if I really wanted to, so I made up my mind and went inside after a year of being gone. When I walked in they greeted me in open arms like I never left and I started class the next day. After starting class I enjoyed it just like the first time I did it and I plan on doing the same thing for the rest of my life.
